Derrick Nelson (grade 4/5) is a new-comer to the Comox Valley and also a newlywed to Shannon. Before these big milestones, Derrick had been living in North Vancouver where he wore a multitude of hats. These hats included, lifeguard, tri-athlete, and school teacher. Derrick has done extensive travel such as working and living in both Japan and Australia, volunteering in Vietnam, and racing in triathlons in Hawaii and Germany. Mr. Nelson’s training in Kinesiology and degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education/ Learning Difficulties will be of great benefit to the school. Both Derrick and Shannon are very excited to be living in the Comox Valley where they hope to explore the many outdoors activities that are offered here.
