Rules for Riding the School Bus
In addition to the rules for loading, unloading, and riding buses, make sure your children know and follow these safety guidelines:
  1. Leave home early enough to catch the bus without rushing. Must be at your stop five minutes ahead.
  2. Walk the safest (not necessarily the shortest) route to and from the bus stop.
  3. If you must walk across a street or highway, be extremely careful. Do so safely by stopping and looking both ways.
  4. When waiting for a bus, stay off the road and be alert to traffic.
Specific "Rules for Riding School Buses" are distributed each September for parents to review with their children. There is a "Bus Discipline Process" to help drivers and the principal to deal with behaviour problems on the bus.

Routes
The routes for the bus are established in August of each year and copies of the route are distributed to parents prior to the first day of school. Students are picked up and delivered to their designated spot only. Any occasional change must be communicated directly to the bus driver or to the office (by 2:10 p.m.).

Bus Seating Priorities
Those children already registered in the school have first choice of bus service upon re-registration for the next school year. All new registrations will be subject to availability of bus seats on a first come first serve basis. If the bus isĀ at full capacity those registering are notified and parents will be responsible to find transportation for their children.

Field Trips
There may be occasion when the parents will be requested to volunteer their driving services for field trips. These are usually great experiences for the parent, student and teacher to share. Please keep in mind that to transport children in your vehicle you should carry at least one million dollar liability insurance.
